Like its predecessor, its multi- sport mode means that users can track all of their indoor and outdoor sporting activities.īut the Spark is also a fitness tracker that automatically monitors steps taken, calories burned and sleep duration. The strap feels more secure than previously. The watch module has a square four-way button just below the display. It still consists of a watch module and a strap. In terms of looks, the Spark does not differ much from its predecessor except that it looks slimmer. Its predecessor, the TomTom Runner + MultiSport Cardio, was my favourite GPS running watch as it does away with the need of a heart rate sensor chest strap by having a wrist heart rate monitor. There is also a version of this model that excludes the wireless headphones, priced at $399. #TOMTOM MYSPORTS CONNECT SHARE FACEBOOK BLUETOOTH#This model includes a built-in heart rate sensor, integrated music player with 3GB of internal memory for music storage and a pair of Bluetooth headphones. I reviewed the flagship model, otherwise known as TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch + Bluetooth Headphones. Replacement straps are available for around $40 to $50 but the wristband should really last longer than it has.The TomTom Spark GPS Fitness Watch comes in five different models, ranging from the basic version ($249) to the flagship model ($479). This is particularly noticeable where the watch face pops out of the band. #TOMTOM MYSPORTS CONNECT SHARE FACEBOOK UPDATE#Update (3 March 2015): Unfortunately, the rubber wristband has started to fray after around six months of use. At $349 it may be a little pricey for some, but given the range of features, it’s a worthwhile buy. This dashboard, as well as the good overall performance and ease of use of the watch itself, make the TomTom Runner Cardio a good GPS watch for runners of all levels. Nevertheless, the MySports Connect Web site has a great dashboard with a map and graphs that illustrate your average speed, elevation and heart rate at different points during each run. While our watch was set up for a reviewer (that is, we couldn't log-in to it using our own TomTom account, but one already set up for us by TomTom), TomTom assures us that you will be able to access your historical data if you already have a TomTom account using previous TomTom devices (such as the TomTom Multi-Sport GPS that we reviewed last September). #TOMTOM MYSPORTS CONNECT SHARE FACEBOOK PC#The watch face pops out of the rubber wristband and is placed in a cradle and connected to a PC for charging and uploading data to the TomTom MySports Connect Web site. The ‘Zones’ mode lets you target a minimum and maximum pace to make sure you are running at the right level. ‘Goals’ mode allows you to set a distance, calorie or time goal, and to view your progress during a run. Numerous ‘training’ modes can be selected by pushing to the right from the clock screen, selecting the ‘run’ option and pushing down.
